Wheels, I haz ‘em!

My temporary wheels were delivered yesterday afternoon by the Red Cross ~ so as promised (despite the grey misty low clouds and drizzle) P took me for a promenade along the esplanade. The air smelt so fresh I swear I could taste the health giving ozone! It was wonderful despite the dreary weather!

Sidmouth esplanade yesterday

I’d been reading an article about wheelchair use and a top tip was “ditch the flatties ~ you might as well feel good by wearing nice shoes with high heels”. Well OK ~ I can only where one shoe at the moment but yesterday it was a stylish black patent leather loafer with a high wedge heel! (I know Tracey will appreciate this detail!)

Wheels, I haz 'em!

We walked (OK, P walked) the whole length of the esplanade ~ and at the far end by the lifeboat station, the fisherman were bringing in their day’s catch and preparing them for storage:

There was a strong smell of fish in the air so it wasn’t long before:

Looking back towards Peak Hill … The mannequin on the right is used for collecting funds for the lifeboat station ~ although there weren’t enough people about yesterday …

On the way back we saw a baby seagull …

He was running as fast as his little legs could carry him …

Wait for me ...

As P pushed me back I notice all the leaves on the ground … I guess Autumn really is here …

The good news is that today is bright and sunny and the sky is blue ~ so if I can persuade P to take me out there’ll will be a whole different view of September to see. Meanwhile I’ve got my head in Dan Brown’s latest book ~ I can’t put it down.
