If I could be anywhere today it would be in Venice. Although I’m not sure it’s crutches or wheelchair friendly ~ so maybe next Spring. I’ve visited Venice many times before and never tire of it’s beauty ~ and of course it’s a photographer’s Heaven. Every which way you look is a photo opportunity.
The good news is that my hired wheelchair (from the Redcross) arrived today ~ so if it stops raining P and I will get some fresh air on Sidmouth seafront (just 4 minutes walk away) ~ and maybe enjoy a cuppa there whilst we’re people watching. OK it’s not quite Venice ~ but very pretty. At the moment I’m feeling in desperate need of seeing the sea and breathing in the sea air.
Meanwhile I will visit the Venice Daily Photos blog (see the RSS feeed in the side column) as it’s the next best thing to being there. If you haven’t visited before, you are in for a treat ~ stunning photos! Meanwhile a painting of Venice (“borrowed” from the site) to inspire you!
Hover the mouse over it for details:

PS: I’m reading Dan Brown’s book “The Lost Symbol” (my son bought it for me as a recuperation present) and despite what any of the critics say it’s fabulous; a real page turner.
PPS: I got no sleep last night ~ if you’ve read Milo’s bloggie you will know why! The little sh*t went missing for 11 hours. STRESS or what? Thankfully he sauntered in fit and well at 3.10 am and looked at us as if we were mad when we scooped him up and smothered him in kisses. Cats ~ who’d have ‘em? (OK, moi!)

Hope that you get some rest, I get panicky if my babies wonder away too. Still looking for Buddy… I keep mistaking Tigger for Buddy every time he walks into the kitchen.
Venice sounds like a beautiful place to visit…even in pictures…you should visit Albuquerque, too…I found it on those photo blogs.

I’m so sorry Buddy isn’t back ~ I can really appreciate how hard it is for you. Last night was a nightmare when I thought we’d lost Milo.

Are the reviews poor for Brown”s latest book? It sounds good to me! Glad you’re getting around a bit better. Spent the afternoon at the hospital with my sister who had to have ankle surgery. I rented her one of those kneeling scooters so she can get back to work next week (hopefully) as a nurse. Her main job right now is a desk job which should be doable despite the cast, plus she’s in school, and supports her daughter and grand daughter who live with her. She can’t afford to be out of commission for very long, poor thing!

Sorry to hear about your sister ~ hope all goes well. I’m not sure what you mean by a kneeling scooter but it sounds handy.
The reviews for DB’s latest book are mixed but a little critical ~ however I’m loving it. I’ll review it when I’ve finished reading it.

I love Dan Brown and am looking forward to reading The Lost Symbol… I have a long list ahead if it and no time for any of them!
I just left the boy’s blog. Yikes. I went through that with Gandalf twice. When I first moved here he stayed out one night til about 3:15! I kept opening the patio door with dwindling hope of him being there, and finally, there he was. I think I aged 5 years that night.
The second time was only an hour or so, but I was just as worried. That’s when I changed it to only when I was home and only for a few minutes in the morning and the same at night. I told my parents no more Outside when I wasn’t home.
Venice is definitely on my list of places I’d like to visit one day.

I read a really good review of the book, said it wasn’t the best book ever but very entertaining blah blah so I’m definitely going to read it. Milo is a naughty boy isn’t he? Enjoy the day getting out!
