Come with me on a guided tour around BURROW FARM GARDENS ~  Millenium Garden  (Dalwood, Devon, UK) The farm  gardens were created by Mary Benger in an old Roman clay pit in the land surrounding her home. They are breathtakingly beautiful, come see for yourself …  (if you hovva the mouse over each picture you’ll get more information.

Entrance to the Millenium garden

Just inside the gate is a bench so that you can gaze at the beauty of the garden, and rest before exploring …

From the bench you can see the entire garden ...

This is the view you can see from the bench:

There is a gorgeous fish-serpant water spout that fills the rill …

The initials in the planter (below) are those of Mary Benger and her husband. The rill full of water leads down the garden to the pond:

The garden leads to a “Haha” which overlooks a magnificent view of the Devon countryside. Below is the pond (notice the rill leading into it) and you can just see the edge of the stone edge of the  ”Haha” …

Standing by the “Haha” (with the magnificent view behind you) and looking back up The Millenium Garden – notice the gate on the right, and the summerhouse on the left  – and the bench is on the right (tucked behind the plants).

looking back up the garden from the "Haha" - you can see the summerhouse (top left) and the pond in the foreground.

I hope you enjoyed looking round this beautiful garden …

The Millenium Garden, is just one small part of Burrow Farm Gardens. The gardens cover many acres and include: The Pergola Walk (built in 1985), a beautiful thatched summerhouse (built in 2002), and Apple Tree lawn, a woodland garden, a bog garden,  a wonderful lake with incredible water lilies, decideous Azaleas, a Japanese Azalea lawn, a courtyard garden, a terrace garden, a rock garden, an Azalea glade – and of course a craft shop and tea room. The garden is stocked with many rare specimans of plants and trees that I had never seen before – it was truly spectacular.

If you are ever in the area it is well worth a visit. I took photos of all of the gardens areas so I will show you the other pics another time.
