Honest crap!

honestcrap

Java Queen tagged everyone on her blogroll – so I had no excuse not to join in! I’m not sure my list will as explicit as hers though -  I’ll be honest (but boring)! I tag everyone on my blogroll that can be bothered! (Now don’t all get lazy and not bother!)

  1. I loved the sixties – and part of me would still like to be a hippy. Sometimes I see other women of my age in hippy style clothes (long flowing skirts, beads, wild hair, the kind of look that appears thrown together but is probably carefully constructed) and I feel envious. My own lifestyle is not suitable for the hippy look.
  2. I’d love to be really outrageous. I’d love to have the outspoken confidence to tell people exactly what I think of their behaviour when I view it as wrong, or unfair, or unjust, or unlawful, or mean or lacking integrity. But usually fear of losing my job, or spoiling a relationship, or fear of the consequences stops me. I will speak up if the injustice is blatant – but always utterly politely – when really I’d like to shout what I really feel. Imagine how lovely it would be to carry a megaphone round all day and say things like: OI YOU! YES YOU … YOU ARE A MEAN AND SPITEFUL DICTATOR WITH NO INTEGRITY! (What bliss!)
  3. I’d love to tell the ABSOLUTE truth for a day – no holds barred with no fear of repercussions. But if I did I’d probably be banned from almost everywhere and be a figure of hate! E.g. arrogant doctors, snooty lazy shop assistants, colleagues that lack integrity, neighbours who ruin life for others by selfish behaviour, family members who are toxic – oh I could go on and on ….  I’m obviously repressed!
  4. I’d like to have five minutes prime TV time to tell the government about what I think about the corruption at MP level.
  5. I can’t watch anything violent on TV or in films – it disturbs me too much and then I have nightmares.
  6. I HATE cruelty to animals and think the penalties should be much harder for those guilty of inflicitng suffering.
  7. I HATE cruelty or neglect of vulnerable people whatever their age or ability (old, young, disabled in some way)
  8. Quite often I feel ashamed to be human because the human race allows such dreadful things to happen, and continue to happen – and when good people do nothing bad things happen. Sometimes I imagine what a traveller from space would think of the humans in our World – I know thy would be disgusted. Some starve while others grown fat, some don’t even have clean water or shelter, some don’t have the basic requirements for eveyday life while others spend £1000 on a handbag or watch. Some treat animals apallingly, as if they have no right to a life befitting their species. Need I go on …
  9. I hate that some people earn unrealistic amounts of money for things not worthy of such a pay cheques (filmstars, some sportsmen and women, celebrities, people with no real talent other than “being a celebrity”) – while other worthy people work hard all their lives and get little reward.
  10. I hate it that in the World today their are people who are still locked into slavery. Sometimes I think there is no hope for society. Why are we allowing it to happen?

Sorry if that sounded like one big moan – but I am being honest. And it is CRAP that these things happen. There are lots of things I LOVE about life too – but this is a post about honest crap (as I view it) – so you got the negative side of me!

Martin Luther King, Jr. said “Bad things happen when good people do nothing.” — don’t choose to do nothing.

  1. You dress like a hippie, and I’ll dress like a punk- then we’ll photo shop our pic together ;) The hippie and the punk! I pretty much agree with everything you’ve written here. I don’t think it’s negative as much as just plain old frustration. I always wonder if things were always this bad or are they just getting worse and worse and worse? To live in this day and age I feel it’s a full time job to try to stay positive. Positive because we only have one life to live- that’s all we get… I don’t want to spend the whole time being pissed off…so I am constantly working on being positive. Between being a mother, a wife, daughter, friend, and staying positive, I’m totally exhausted- I need a nap now – LOL!

  2. Ooops, I did it again! *sing it* – LOL! I tagged ya again. Sorry, but I was on a role…

  3. Hi, this is a very good list of honest crap. I really like the quote you put in by Martin Luther King, Jr. It is very true.
    Love you friend!
