It’s impossible to be cross with Milo for long, when he is so cute. He has a habit of snoozing on my desk whilst I work and today he brought his favourite toy (mouse) with him. I guess I’m going to have to hide all phone cables from him … or I’ll need a Bank Loan! (to see the buns on Whisker Wednesday over at Diva Kitty look here)

There, now… aren’t you sorry you were such a big, mean mama to iddy-biddy Milo, when he presents you with such an honor as his slobbered-up old mouse? Just wait until you get your first dead bird or rat dropped at your feet… you’ll really be in the upper echelon, then! LOL! Boy, someone is really wrapped around someone’s finger… er, paw… er, claw… whatever!
Don’t blame you, though. I kinda miss having a pet, myself. Being an apartment dweller with a no-pets clause in your rental agreement can suck. Even fish aren’t allowed… but birds are! Can you believe that? They can be the messiest pets, what with their flinging seeds and other crap all over the place!
I get a kick out of Budgies, though. They are nature’s clowns, to be sure… check it out…

That’s some clever budgie!
My step grandfather (who died many years ago) had a budgie that he trained to talk. I can remember, even as a child, being utterly amazed that the little ball of feathers could actually speak. He must have spent hours and hours patiently teaching it. It had a wonderful vocabulary and really clear diction. It could wolf-whistle too! It used to wolf-whistle my grandma – when she was in the kitchen making the most delicious cakes and biscuits.

One of my favorite memories is of my cat Buffy, my first cat. I had a goldfish and I kept it on my dresser which was pretty high up, Buffy never bothered the little fish so I never thought he would mess with it…well one day I came home from school to find my little fish bowl dumped over, my dresser a mess and warped and my little fish on the floor flat as a pancake. I swore Buffy had to have sat on the fish or something because it was so flat and was very surprised he didn’t eat it. I think he played with it and left it for me to see that he had caught it…I didn’t get mad at him, but my poor little fish! I should write a post on Buffy.
