Today, is my lovely Grandad’s 100th Birthday.

A huge thank you to CuriousC at Idea Jump! She posted grandad the most beautiful letter and card for his 100th birthday and has also put a wonderful celebratory picture on her blog for him. You can see it here. I particularly like the Angel – it seems symbolic of a guardian Angle for Grandad. There is no doubt he will be called to Heaven quite soon and it is lovely to think he has a guardian Angel to help him enroute there. Thank you so much.
Tall Chick also did a wonderful special celebratory post for Grandad - it’s is so worth a look. Thank you, Tina. I love all the images of life around the time Grandad was born – it makes me realise just how much society has changed and just how long Grandad has lived.
Below is a short celebratory YouTube I made for Grandad’s birthday. You might like to join in the celebration with us by watching it. Today, Grandad has a card arriving from HRH Queen Elizabeth 2nd – and it will be the highlight of his day since he is an ardent Royal follower. The nursing home where Grandad now lives is holding a party for him this afternoon with a lovely birthday cake to share with the other residents. He is also having his photo taken with the Lord Mayor (which should appear in the local newspaper). I am so thrilled Grandad made it; he is a real trooper! He had an additional birthday celebration yesterday (just for close family) with a lovely birthday cake from us! The more cake the better (well that’s what Grandad and I think, anyhow!) I’ll post some more pics later.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful thoughtful messages to grandad – which I will read to him next time I see him.
He was in fantastic form today – you’d have thought he was 80, instead of 100!
We’ve had a lovely party this afternoon – I’ll post some pics.
