OK, I know it’s September (Cancer Awareness Month) and it’s October that is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - but I figured if you want to get your work mates involved, or your friends, or have a pink coffee morning - you’d need to be reminded to get the information and send out the invites now! The link below will tell you all you need to know:
Breast Cancer Awareness UK are having a pink day. Find out more about it here: WEAR IT PINK FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH , or in the USA find out more about Breast Cancer Awareness Month here.
They say: “Breast Cancer Campaign is asking everyone in the UK to wear it pink on Friday 26 October and donate £2 each, so the Charity can continue researching the cure for breast cancer.”
I say: What an excellent way to support breast cancer research. I shall definately be wearing pink. (Any excuse! I can be such a girl at times!!!)
I’d also like to bring your attention to an inspiring site called PINK for October (raising awareness for men with breast cancer)
Pink for October says: “According to the American Cancer Society, roughly 1,720 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. While this number pales in comparison to the number of female cases, it proves a point. Breast cancer affects everyone. October marks Breast Cancer Awareness month, a time when everyone can come together and do their part to raise awareness and funds. A number of male bloggers have joined their female counterparts in doing their part and proudly going Pink for October. Will you be one of them?“
